Hand knitted soap bag. Size approx. 15cm x 20cm.

Care instructions: hand wash with cool water. Flat drying.

These soap bags are made from flax grown in Finland.

From flax plant to yarn:

The flax grown from seed at Knaapi's farm in Pälkäne is harvested and processed into flax yarn using traditional methods:

- Flax has been pulled from the ground with its roots and dried by placing the flax bundles in the field to lean against a pot set at a height of about 60 centimeters for about a week.

-Seed pods and leaves can be detached from the stem of the plant with courage.

During soaking in water , the woody parts of the flax are separated from the actual flax fiber. After soaking, the flax bundles are dried outside in the field and then in the barn.

- With the flax trap, the woody support cells of the flax stalks have been trapped .

- In the slime the rest of the miscellaneous fibers and the coarse linen fibers, i.e. the rags , have been removed .

- The linen is combed with a cage , in which case the rest of the vegetables have been separated from the fine and long-fibered so-called of the very first .

-The last stage of flax processing was li brush. The linen fibers are spun into yarn by hand on rye.

Soap bags are made in Finland by hand knitting the yarn.
